Freesia grandiflora sub sp grandiflora

A cormous perennial for alpine pan or really sheltered sunny position on scree or rock garden. On strong stems the deep scarlet sprays of strap shaped petaled flowers appear in mid-late Summer.The corms need frost protection if planted outside. Plant half again as deep as pot to avoid frostdamage. If in a container on display outside during growing season, place the container in a frost free place inside until early the following Summer.
