About Us

Border Alpines is a family-run specialist plant nursery situated in North Devon,

We specialise in alpines, and herbaceous perennial plants. We are breeders of hardy geraniums and have a passion for finding new strains and cultivars of many species to bring to market. All of our plants are grown here on the nursery in Devon. 

We first ran a mail order service in the 1980s, back when the printed catalogue was king and payment was by cheque or postal order!  Customer feedback was always lovely and we enjoyed the thought of our plants whizzing off to new homes.   

With the help of our now grown children and the power of modern technology, we are thrilled to have brought back the option of mail order for customers, and it is still wonderful to receive comments and to hear of the enjoyment people get from our plants (Refer to customer comments).
